Gus Hansen, David Benyamine and Patrik Antonius

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Gus Hansen ($68,599), David Benyamine ($65,896.25) and Patrik Antonius ($115,495.25) played at the Patrik Antonius $2000/$4000 table at Full Tilt.com.

After watching the table for 2 hands (I started watching well into the match) David Oppenheim sat down with $50k. It was interesting though when David Oppenheim sat down, Gus Hansen sat out, just watching the action… I don’t know if there is past history or it was just by coincidence that he sat out at the same time as Oppenheim playing at the poker table.

One of the larger hands at the table was between Patrik Antonius, David Benyamine and David Oppenheim. After the hole cards Patrik raised to $4k which was called by both David’s. The flop of [Kd Jh Ah] was dealt and Benyamine and Oppenheim checked while Patrik bet $2k which was called by Benyamine and then raised by Oppenheim. Both Patrik and Benaymine called thebet. The turn was a [8c] and Benaymine checked while Oppenheim bet $4k and at this time Patrik gave up and folded while Benyamine raised another $4k which was called. The river was another 8 this time of diamonds. Benyamine bet $4k which was called by Oppenheim, on the showdown David Benyamine shows 8s, kh for a full house and won the pot worth $47,999.

Well like clock work when Oppenheim ($16k) left the table Gus Hansen sat back in. It looks like Gus Hansen didn’t want to play against Oppenheim. Gus Hansen soon after sitting down won a large hand against Benyamine. David raised to $4k on the flop which was called by Gus. The flop of [Js Tc Kc] came down and Gus Hansen checked while Benyamine threw out $2k which was called. The turn of another king this time hearts came down and again Hansen checked Benaymine bet $4k which was then raised to $8k by Hansen. The river card was a 7 of clubs and Gus Hansen didn’t check this time, betting $4k. David Benyamine then doubled the bet to $8k which Gus Hansen decided to go another $4k to $12k which Benyamine called. Gus Hansen then showed a full house kings full of jacks and Benyamine mucked his hand.

At the end of watching about 50 hands the chip counts looked like:

  • Patrik Antonius ($125,691.75)
  • David Benyamine ($43,688.25)
  • Gus Hansen ($114,694.50)

Ivey, Hansen, Juanda and Benaymine at FullTiltPoker.net

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Phil Ivey ($263,264.90), Gus Hansen ($87,674.10), John Juanda ($149,992) and David Benyamine ($48,998) played $2000/$4000 Limit Stud H/L. This post is going to be somewhat short because I watched the tail end of the game and saw a couple big pots but didn’t see enough action to give a good report. I was able to see about 40 hands. There were points while I was watching when players would sit in and out…so even the 40 hands I watched weren’t the best.

Well after what I am sure are low hopes on your end I will start with a hand between Phil Ivey and David Benyamine. On 4th street where the betting started had Benyamine bet $2k which Ivey called. On 5th street Benaymine bet $4k and Ivey raised to $8k, which David Benyamine called. On 6th street this time Ivey bet $4k and Benyamine called. 7th street same deal with Ivey betting and David Benyamine calling. On the showdown Phil Ivey showed a full house tens full of fives and took down the pot worth $41,198.

This was really the largest hand I saw with another $32k in the PokerTilt hands. At the end of about 40 hands the chip counts were:

  • David Benyamine ($28,497.75), is sitting out
  • John Juanda ($149,092), is sitting out
  • Gus Hansen ($149,663.35)
  • Phil Ivey ($272,660.40)

Phil Ivey, Lars Luzak Play No Limit Hold-em

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Phil Ivey ($280,888.50) played against LarsLuzak ($56,349.50) at Railheaven. The $500/$1000 No Limit Hold-em table has been popular lately and this heads up match was a good one to watch. After watching for about 70 hands David Benyamine sat down with $100k and joined the action.

There were a couple big hands played while I watched the table. One was when LarsLuzak raised $3k after the whole cards were dealt and Ivey called. After the flop of [Jh 3s Jc] LarsLuzak bet $4k and was was raised by Ivey for an additional $12k which then LarsLuzak re-raised again to $29,600…Phil Ivey then re-re-raised to $47,200 which at this point LarsLuzak folded his cards and Phil Ivey took down the pot worth $65, 199.50.

A few hands later LarsLuzak raised again to $3k pre-flop and Ivey called. The flop of [6d Th 7s] came down and LarsLuzak bet $4k and Phil Ivey raised again to $12k this time LarsLuzak just called. The turn was a [8s] and both checked and the river card was another 8 but this time diamonds. Phil Ivey then bet $24k which was called by LarsLuzakafter thining for a bit. Phil Ivey showed two pair eights and sixes while LarsLuzak had a eight high straight. LarsLuzak took the pot worth $77,999.50.

The high stake poker hand at the table was bigger then both of the two pots that I just went over. It was between David Benyamine and LarsLuzak. After the hole cards were dealt Benyamine raised to $3k which LarsLuzakcalled. On the flop of [Kh 7h Qs] Luzak checked and Benyamine bet $4k which was called by Luzak. The turn [2h] had Luzak checking and Benyamine betting once again $4k which was then alled. On the turn [2h] was dealt and this time Benyamine bet $12k after Luzak checked which again was called. On the river [4d] came down and Benyamine bet $34k after LarsLuzak checked again…This time Luzak thought for awhile and then bet $127,191 going all-in. David Benyamine then quickly called for the rest of his stack which was $41,995….On the showdown LarsLuzak flipped over [3h Ah] and had an ace high flush….Benyamine folded and LarsLuzak raked in the monster pot worth $189,990.50!

A little while later David Benyamine and LarsLuzak got into it again with big bets coming from Lars Luzak after every card. This time David Benyamine was on the defensive calling the big bets until the river when the pot was up to $139,222 and he went all-in for an additional $132,384.50. Luzak folded at this point and David Benyamine took the large pot.

At the end of about 150 hands the chip counts were:

  • Gus Hansen ($50,000), is sitting out
  • BeepBeepImaJeep ($102,498)
  • David Benyamine ($271,605.50)
  • LarsLuzak ($187,071.50)

David Benyamine, Patrik Antonius Play at FullTiltPoket.net

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

David Benyamine, Patrik Antonius and Nuts78 played $2000/$4000 Horse at Full Tilt Poker.net. They played at the Patrik Antonius table and that is 6 max. Also at the table but sitting out was world1969.

While watching this game the stakes are so high it is almost hard to imagine they are playing with real money. I keep thinking of that hand was only $25k….that’s nothing. But then I snap back to reality and think…damn this is ridiculous $25k is a crazy amount of money. The hand average at the table is $16k! But it makes for a great poker game and everyone likes high limit poker and when Benyamine and Antonius are sitting at a table that is guaranteed.

One of the larger hands at the table (well they are all large) was between frog22 and Patrik Antonius playing Limit Stud Hi. Everytime frog22 would bet Patrik Antonius would raise and at any chance Antonius could get he was betting. The showdown was a quick one with Partik Antonius showing [7s 5d 7c 2s As 2c 2d] had a full house, Twos full of Sevens. This one pot he won $49,499!

Then a couple hands later Patrik and frog22 go at it again while playing Limit Stud Hi. Similar to last time Patrik is raising after every card and frog22 is just calling. This changed on 6th street when Patrik again threw out a bet of $4k but this time frog22 raisied it to $8k while Antonius raises again to $12k and not done yet frog22 makes it $16k. 7th street Patrik raises to $4k and again was raised by frog22 for an additional $4k but this doesn’t stop Antonius who raised it again making it $12k to see his cards which frog22 calls. Patrik Antonius then showed [Kh Kd Jh 7s 6s Kc Jc] and had another full house, Kings full of Jacks and frog22 mucks. Patrik then rakes in the pot worth $72,899. Nice!

In the end the chip counts looked like:

  • Patrik Antonius ($162,908.75)
  • Nuts78 ($144,594.75)
  • world1969 ($100,000), is sitting out
  • frog22 ($106,195), is sitting out

On the turn Hansen bet $4k and was raised by Phil Ivey to $8k whichw as called. After the river Hansen checked but Ivey bet and through our $4k which was called by Hansen. Phil Ivey Against Benyamine

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Phil Ivey ($100,000) played against David Benyamine ($100,000) at the Patrik (6 max) $2000/$4000 table at Full Tilt.com. They both played in the $25k Heads-Up PLO Championship but both lost in the first round of the tournament.

The game didn’t last too long with 42 hands being played between the two. There were a lot of $20k hands with a couple $40k hands. It seemed to me that David Benyamine was winning the majority of the large hands and it was Phil Ivey that left the table.

Phil Ivey Plays Heads Up Against David Benyamine

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Phil Ivey ($219,692.50) played heads up against David Benyamine ($111,210.40) at the $2000/$4000 HORSE Patrik Antonius table at Full Tilt.com.

It was a great game to watch as both players are not afraid to play in big hands. When I went through the hand history it seemed like every couple hands there was a $30k+ hand. The average pot while I was watching was $16k.

One hand between the two was especially good with Benyamine raising after the hole cards and Ivey calling. On the flop Ivey checked and Benaymine bet $2k which was then raised by Ivey to $4k which was called by Benyamine. On the turn Phil Ivey bet $4k and was quickly raised to $8k and Ivey then re-raised to $12k which Benyamine called. On the river Ivey bet and Benyamine raised an additional $4k which Ivey called. David Benyamine then showed his hand which was [Qh Ac 9h 7d] giving him a full house, Queens full of Aces with the board [3h 8h Qd Qs As]. David Benyamine had a really helpful flop, turn and river….Phil Ivey folded at this point not showing his hand and Benyamine raked in the $56k pot.

When the table broke up with Phil Ivey sitting out the chip counts were:
David Benyamine ($226,900.40)
Phil Ivey ($115,588.50), is sitting out
halfdozen999 ($88,398.50)

One of the first hands that I watched was a hand where SteveSung raised to $4k which was called by Benyamine. After the flop a check from Benyamine and again a bet from SteveSung. The turn though Benyamine led out with $4k which was called by SteveSung. The river the same with a bet from Benyamine. At the showdown David Benyamine had [9c 2d 5h Qd] with the board [Ad 8d 8s 3d 7h] and had an ace high flush for the high and won the low with 7,5,3,2,A collecting $31,999.50.

Another large hand was a hand where David Benyamine raised to $4k and was re-raised to $6k. They then went to the flop and SteveSung bet $2k and Benyamine raised to $4k. The turn SteveSung checked while David Benyamine contiuned his betting with $4k which was called. The river the same with SteveSung calling David Benyamine’s bet. In the end, it was not wise with Benyamine showing another Ace high flush and a 7,6,4,2,A for the low….taking down the pot worth $35,999.50.

David Benyamine ($59,986.50), Gus Hansen ($21,000) and SteveSung ($84,991) played $2000/$4000 Limit Omaha H/L. Also playing at the table was howisitfeellike ($26,491) and EazyPeazy ($114,586.50). They were played at the Patrik (6 Max) table at FullTilt Poker.com.

EazyPeazy was winning a lot of the hands while I was watching. A couple of the first hands I watched was when EazyPeazy won a hand worth $41,997. At the river Gus Hansen bet $4k and EazyPeazy went over the top and raised another $4k and Hansen then folded. The very next hand EazyPeazy again went up against Gus Hansen. EazyPeazy was betting and Hansen was calling through out the hand. At the end of the hand the board was showing [3h 9c 4c Qh] 7c] and EazyPeazy had [6c 2d 5s 6h] and made a seven high straight. High Stakes HORSE Poker at Full Tilt Poker

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

I was looking for some high stakes tables and happened upon a great HORSE game that was being played at Full Tilt. The players involved were Phil Ivey ($74,989.50), Gus Hansen ($85,085.50), David Singer ($75,491), David Oppenheim ($173,179) and David Benyamine ($91,187). They played at the Patrik Antonius table which is a $2000/$4000 HORSE game.

One top hand that I watched was between Gus Hansen, David Oppenheim, David Benyamine and David Signer. After 3rd street their was a bet, raise, re-raise and a re-re-raise. On 4th street Gus Hansen bet $2k and was called by both David’s. 5th street was David Benyamine betting $4k, raise by signer to $8k, re-raise by Benyamine to $12k and a called by both Singer and Gus Hansen. 6th street was a bet from Gus Hansen for $4k and a call from both Benyamine and Singer. 7th street everyone checks and Gus Hansen showed two pair, aces and nines while Benyamine and Singer mucked. The pot was worth $80,097. After the hand Singer added $100k to the table.

There were a lot of 30k hands which made the game pretty fun to watch. I have a bunch of hands below that does a pretty good job with the best hands of the table. After I watched for 50+ hands Phil Ivey was the bigger winner…when I first sat to watch the table he had about $75k but when I left he had $179k…not bad for about 45min of work?

Other chip stacks at the table:

David Singer ($80,578)
Eli Elezra ($54,798.15)
Gus Hansen ($106,566)
David Benyamine ($114,017.75)
