The first hand they played started with a bang as Brian Hastings raised to $3k which Phil Ivey called. The flop of [9h 3c 2s] came down and Ivey checked while Hastings bet $4k which was then raised to $15k which Brian Hastings called. The turn was a 2h and Phil Ivey took his time and eventually threw out a bet of $29k which Brian Hastings then taking his time raising it to $68k….Phil Ivey though and even requested time but threw away the hand giving Brian Hastings the pot worth $94,000.

Phil Ivey ($118,799.50) played against MR B 2 U SON ($81,200) at Full Tilt. They played at the Hansen Park table which is a $2000/$4000 HORSE table. This is Gus Hansen’s table and he has a reserved seat but wasn’t online.

The table had some pretty good hands with the average pot at the table: $7,462. One of the poker hands that was noteable was during Limt Hold-em. After the hole cards Phil Ivey raised to $4,000 and was then re-raised to $6k which he called. After the flop son bet $2k and was then raised to $4k and re-raised to $6k which Ivey called. On the turn Son bet $4k and was raised to $8k which he called. Finally on the river Son tried to slow it down by checking which didn’t stop Phil Ivey from betting and eventually taking the hand after Son folded. Phil Ivey won the $40k pot.

Another large hand was again in Limit Hold-em and after the hold cards were dealt Ivey raised to $4k which was called by Son. After the flop, Son checked, Ivey Bet $2k, Son then raised to $4k and Ivey re-raised to $6k which son called. After the turn Son checked and Ivey bet $4k which was called. On the river the same thing happened with a check and a bet. On the showdown Ivey showed a jack high straight and won the $35,999 pot.

Phil Ivey Plays Limit Hold-em

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Phil Ivey ($31,500) played $1000/$2000 Limit Hold-em at the FullTiltPoker.net Table Jute (6 max). Also playing at the table was Brandon Adams ($20,000), Buster Love ($147,584.50), vlindermes ($100,977.50), TonyBliar ($73,997) and Boosted J ($54,485).

The table was averaging I would say about $10k-$15k, I didn’t actually see the hand average so it could definitely be off. Most of the bigger hands were $18-$20k…With it being limit there were a lot of hands in that range and a little below.

The larger hand at the table was between vlindermes and BusterLove. There was a lot of raises and re-raises and in the end vlindermes had the nuts on the flop. The flop of [8h 7c Td] and with his hand of [Jc 9d] had a jack high straight. Buster Love went the whole way and ended up mucking his hand.

At the end of watching about 100 hands and the a break and the last 50 hands at the table the chip counts were:

  • vlindermes ($129,881.50)
  • Boosted J ($83,696)
  • Phil Ivey ($134,637)

Phil Ivey Plays Matt Harilenko at FullTilt

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

Phil Ivey ($353,832) played against Matt Hawrilenko ($65,992.50) at the $2000/$4000 Limit Hold’em table at FullTilt. They played at Hawrilenko’s table which is a heads up table.

This was one of the fastest games I have ever watched. They was not much waiting (thinking) during the game and at times just watching was hard because it seemed like they were playing at least 300+ hands per hour. You would be watching one hand, look away, and all of the sudden there is a new flop and a couple bets.

I started watching pretty late in the game since Ivey had $300k while Matt Hawrilenko only had $65k. The first 15 hands I watched Matt went down to $20k but then won a streak of hands and over the course of about 10 hands and about 10 seconds (well, not that fast….) and all of the sudden had a respectiable $131k.

Well it didn’t last long until Phil Ivey was able to tip the game back to his control. After about 50 more hands Matt Harilenko went broke at the table. When he finally lost his chips he said “alright, you’re officially cut off for a while”, “gg” and Phil Ivey replied “thx”, “best of luck” and Matt Hawrilenko left by saying “ty, u2″.

At the end Phil ivey left with $418k.

Gus Hansen vs. Brian Hastings at Full Tilt.com

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Gus Hansen ($36,799) played against Brian Hastings ($416,937.50) in a $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha Hi game at Full Tilt.com. They played at Acred a (deep 6) table with sunra18 sitting at the table but sitting out during the game so it was heads up until the last couple hands when Urindanger sat down.

The largest hand that I watched was a hand where Gus Hansen raised pre-flop to $1200 and was called by Hastings. The flop was [5h 2s Qc] and Brian Hastings checked while Gus Hansen bet $2000….After a bit of thinking Hastings came back with a raise to $7,600 and after a couple seconds of thought Gus Hansen re-raised it to $25,200…It didn’t take long before Brian Hastings shoved his entire stack raising it to $78,000 and was called by Gus Hansen who at that point put in his last $27,993.50. At this point Brain Hastings showed two pair with [2h 3c 5d 4c] while Gus Hansen showed [9s Ad Qh Qd] and had a set of queens. The turn was a jh and the river a 7h no help to Brian Hastings and Gus Hansen won the $108,786.50 pot.

Another of the larger hands was another win for Gus Hansen when he won with a king high flush against Brian Hastings two pair (aces and sixes). Most of the money in the pot went in after the river card when Gus Hansen already made his flush. Gus Hansen initially bet $4,800 after the river and was then raised by Hastings to $27,200 which Gus Hansen called and took down the pot worth $69,599.50.

It was a pretty one sided table with lots of chips shifting to Gus Hansen. At the end of about 50 hands when the table broke up the chip count was:

  • Gus Hansen ($140,182)
  • Brian Hastings ($329,935)

Brian Hastings, Issac Baron and Ziigmund Play at the Ivey Mix

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Brian Hastings ($100,000), Isaac Baron ($46,745.50) and Ziigmund played at the Ivey Mix (HA) $500/$1000, 9 person table at Full Tilt. Also playing at the table was John Juanda, La Key U, halfdozen999 and frog22. This table had a lot of players sitting out and then sitting back in, so at any time there were usually only about 5-6 players getting dealt to every hand.

The largest hand played at the table was between John Juanda and Isaac Baron. John Juanda raised to $4k pre flop which was then raised by Issac Baron to $13k which Juanda called. The flop came down [9d 4c 6h] and Juanda checked, Baron bet $16k which after some thinking John Juanda called. The turn was a Qc and Juanda again checked but Issac Baron bet $60,200 which Juanda called going all-in with his last $44,844. At this time they both showed their cards and Isaac Baron had [Jc Js] while John Juanda held [As Qd]. The river was [Ad] sealing the deal for John Juanda and giving him the pot worth $149,886.

After about 100 hands the chip counts were:

Ziigmund ($148,995)
durrrr ($45,694)

John Juanda, OMGClayAiken and Trex313 Play at Full Tilt

Friday, October 31st, 2008

John Juanda ($102,296.50), OMGClayAiken ($71,098.50) and trex313 ($49,600) played at RailHeaven (6 max) at FullTiltPoker.net. Also playing at the poker table was lady marmelade ($40,000) and Vaga_Lion ($50,000).

The first hand that I am going to write about was between Vaga_Lion and lady marmelade. After the hole cards were dealt Vaga_Lion raised to $3k and lady marmelade went over the top and raised to $9,500 after a little bit of thinking Vaga_Lion decided to raise all-in which was called by lady marmelade who had $33,500 left. Lady marmelade showed [Ks Qs] while Vaga_Lion showed [As Ac] the flop was [7s Ts Td] … turn [Qc] and the river was [9d] no help to Lady marmelade who needed a J, K or another Q. Vaga_Lion took down the $86,497 pot with his pocket aces holding up.

After a couple hands another large pot was played and this time it was between lady marmelade and trex313. Lady marmelade raised to $3,500 and was called by trex313 in the big blind. The flop was [2h 9s 7d] and trex313 bet $4,800 and lady marmelade raised that to $14,000. This didn’t deter trex313 because he went over the top again to $63,593 and lady marmelade called with $25k. They both flip over their cards and trex313 had [Ad Jh] and lady marmelade had [Ah 9dh]. The turn was [5c] and the river was [Th] neither any help to the trailing trex313. Lady marmelade took the pot with a pair of nines and took with it $85,497.

The next hand I will talk about was a monster hand between Vaga_lion and John Juanda. There was a pre-flop raise of $3,000 by lion and he was called by marmelade and Juanda. The flop of [7c 3d Ad] made marmelade check and Vaga_Lion bet $6,500, marmelade folds and Juanda called. The turn was a [8d] and Jaunada bet $14k after taking some time but was then raised by Vaga_Lion to $42k. At this point John Juanda took awhile to think about his next play but soon enough he raised to $85,292.50 going all-in which was called by Vaga_Lion with $28,997. At this point John Juanda shows [Qd 4d] while
Vaga_Lion shows [8c 8h]. The river was a [As] pairing the board giving Vaga_Lion a full house while Juanda’s flush goes down the drain because of this. Vaga_Lion then took the monster poker pot worth $163,991…While John Juanda mulls his huge beat on the river…

When I stopped watching the chip counts were:

  • lady marmelade ($134,683)
  • John Juanda ($107,792.50), is sitting out
  • Vaga_Lion ($157,991)
  • OMGClayAiken ($85,093.50)

Durrr, Ivey, Juanda, Urindanger Play at Railbird Heaven

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

durrrr ($196,097), Phil Ivey ($702,506.50), John Juanda ($373,484.50), Urindanger ($220,214.50) and elmariachimacho ($68,268) played at the $500/$1000 No Limit hold-em table. The table name is RailHeaven (6 max) and it didn’t disappoint.

You know it’s a good game when the $50k hands are not that interesting. There are a lot of hands in the hand history after the jump but I am going to talk about two huge hands in particular. When you see how much the pots were worth you will know why….

One of the hands was between Urindanger and John Juanda. On a flop of [Jc Kh 6h] Phil Ivey checks, Urindanger checks and John Juanda bet $7,800. Phil Ivey then disconnects and ends up having to fold the hand because his time ran out while Urindanger raises to $26,000k which is called by John after thinking about it for about 10 seconds. The turn was a [8c] and Urindanger takes his time and then throws out a $48k bet which Juanda then takes time and decides to throw all his money in $357,777.50….Urindanger is covered but is still about to call with $125,714.50. They both flip over their cards and Juanda shows [JhKs] (two pair so far) while Urindanger has [6d Kd] (two pair…but smaller second pair). The river comes down a [Qs] no help to Urindanger and Juanda collects the pot worth $408,429!

The next hand was between Phil ivey, elmariachimacho and durrrr. On a flop of [Jh 3c 4h] durrrr bets $7,300 and gets called by both players. The turn was a [8s] and durrrr makes a continuation bet of $27,400 which was called by Phil Ivey while elmariachimacho folded. The river card was a [3d] and durrrr this time checks while Phil Ivey bet $68k …. time went by and durrrr then went all-in raising the pot to $182,477.50. Which after requesting time and thinking on it Phil Ivey called. When they showed their cards durrrr shows a [5c Ad] …. uhhh playing the board…You have NOTHING?!?!? while Phil Ivey has [Qh Jc] and had two pair. Phil Ivey took down the pot and was able to read durrrr’s monster bluff and with that took the massive $451,155 pot.

There were a lot of other good hands and I encourage to to check out the hand history below. After about 150 hands and Phil Ivey leaving the table the chips looked like:

elmariachimacho ($88,067)
John Juanda ($601,320)
durrrr ($269,492)
Phil Ivey ($854,551), <— Almost a million at the table…
Urindanger ($365,446)

Ivey, Hansen, Juanda and Benaymine at FullTiltPoker.net

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Phil Ivey ($263,264.90), Gus Hansen ($87,674.10), John Juanda ($149,992) and David Benyamine ($48,998) played $2000/$4000 Limit Stud H/L. This post is going to be somewhat short because I watched the tail end of the game and saw a couple big pots but didn’t see enough action to give a good report. I was able to see about 40 hands. There were points while I was watching when players would sit in and out…so even the 40 hands I watched weren’t the best.

Well after what I am sure are low hopes on your end I will start with a hand between Phil Ivey and David Benyamine. On 4th street where the betting started had Benyamine bet $2k which Ivey called. On 5th street Benaymine bet $4k and Ivey raised to $8k, which David Benyamine called. On 6th street this time Ivey bet $4k and Benyamine called. 7th street same deal with Ivey betting and David Benyamine calling. On the showdown Phil Ivey showed a full house tens full of fives and took down the pot worth $41,198.

This was really the largest hand I saw with another $32k in the PokerTilt hands. At the end of about 40 hands the chip counts were:

  • David Benyamine ($28,497.75), is sitting out
  • John Juanda ($149,092), is sitting out
  • Gus Hansen ($149,663.35)
  • Phil Ivey ($272,660.40)

Phil Ivey ($235,967.50) played against Matt Hawrilenko ($43,961) in a heads up $2000/$40000 match at the Matt Hawrilenko table.

It was a great table to watch with the blinds so high because each hand was almost guaranteed action. There were a lot of $20k-30k hands. The average hand played at the table was $17k with 86% of the hands going to the flop and over 200 hands per hour.

The river card was a [3d] and Ivey this time checked while Hawrilenko bet $4k which Ivey called. On the showdown Matt Hawrilenko showed [jc 2c] and hand 3 of a kind twos. Matt Harilkenko likely won the hand on the turn and took down the pot worth $39,999.50.

Another large hand at the table had Phil Ivey raising to $4k pre-flop. The hole cards came down [9c 2s 6c] and Hawrilenko checked while Ivey bet $2k and was then re-raised to $4k which Ivey called after taking some time to think about it. On the turn [5h] was dealt and Matt bet $4k and Ivey called. The river was a [3c] and Harilenko bet $4k and Ivey raised to $8k and then was re-raised to $12k.
