Gus Hansen Heads Up Against Tom Dwan “Durrrr”

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Gus Hansen played heads up against Durrr at Full Tilt Poker.net. When I started watching the tables there were two tables going on between them at the Hansen Hangout and Hansen Suckout.

At the Hansen Hangout I started watching when Gus Hansen had ($51,999) and durrrr with ($259,010). This soon changed as the second had I watched was worth $103,997.50. Durrrr won the hand with a king high straight against Gus Hansen’s queen high straight. Two hands later, Gus Hansen lost again with a pair of aces against Durrrr’s jack high flush and lost another all-in pot worth $97,999.50. After each of the past two hands Gus Hansen rebought and after the second defeat he bought in again for $50k. After another two hands they had a hand worth $93k which this time Gus Hansen won with a Full House against Durrrr’s nine high straight.

It didn’t take long before another huge hand was played and this time it was worth $259,595.50. Gus Hansen lost with 3 queens against Durrrr’s ace high flush. After a bunch of raising and re-raising it was Durrrr who put Gus Hansen all-in and it didn’t take long for Gus Hansen to call the enormous amount.

After about 20 more hands Gus Hansen sat out after losing a $47,194.50 pot. At that time he went broke and Tom Dwan had $484k.

The flop of [5h 7d 4c] came down and Markus Golser bet $900 which was called. The next hand which I will talk about was the largest and basically the last hand played between the players. ClockWyze raised to $200 and was then re-raised to $600 and then ClockWyze made it $2,188 which was called. The flop was [Jc 2c Jd] and ClockWyze bet $2,485 and after some time Markus Golser raised to $8,831 which after taking some time ClockWyze called. The turn was [Kc] and Markus Golser went all-in with his last $12,903.50 and was called by ClockWyze. They both showed their cards and Markus Golser had [3h Ah] while ClockWyze showed [Js Jh]. At this point ClockWyze had the winning hand and the river card was a [6d] which had no effect on the hand (couldn’t have at that point). ClockWyze then took down the $47,844.50 pot. Happy Holidays, I haven’t been posting much because of the holidays but now that they are winding down, I will be back on the computer posting as often as possible (I try to get a couple high stakes reports every week).

This was a good table to watch as the blinds were big and the players are the table weren’t afraid to move their chips. When I first started watching a hand was already in progress and when it was finished durrrr took down a pot worth $185,792 against Ziigmund who mucked after seeing a pair of aces in durrrr’s hand.

The largest hand at the table was a monster with Patrik Antonius and Durrrr playing heads up. Antonius raised to $3500 and Durrrr re-raised to $11,000 which Antonius called. The flop came [Td 8h Jd] and Durrrr bet $16,300 who then saw a re-raise from Antonius to $71,400….after taking some time Durrrr then raised again to $236,700, Antonius thought for a bit and went all-in making Durrrr call an additional $35,926.50. At this point they both showed their hands Patrik Antonius had [8d Qd Ts 6d]
while durrrr showed [Kh Ks Ad 3d]. The turn came 7h and the river was a 6d. Durrr didn’t improve his pocket kings and Patrik Antonius took down the monster pot with two pair and won $567,750.
